Gasparilla Music Festival is BACK!

Words By: Emma Hintz

Good news Tampa Bay, Gasparilla music festival is BACK with another killer lineup, feat. Run the Jewels, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Local Natives, Chromeo, Flipturn and more. The beloved festival will be two days this year and will take place on April 29th & 30th, with Run the Jewels headlining on Saturday and Joe Russo’s Not Dead headlining on Sunday. We were able to attend the fest last year and let me tell you, it was a BLAST! It’s more than just a music festival, there is so much to do and see throughout the days that you are attending the fest, it's absolutely amazing.

If you have the time, be sure to check out some of the local acts playing the festival, including Summer Hoop, who also played the festival last year. Gasparilla does a great job of blending larger acts with smaller local + non-local acts, it’s a great way to give the “little guys” a platform, and here at Small Talks we always appreciate that.

Recycled Tunes is a project launched by the Gasparilla Music Foundation in order to support music education in the Tampa Bay Area, giving less fortunate kids a way to access musical instruments. Throughout the year, Recycled Tunes holds instrument drives to collect second hand instruments, local music store “Don Banks Music” then refurbishes all collected instruments, and for the final step all instruments are donated to local schools and other music programs in the area.
